Names of Faculties-

Abhijit Rohi is an Assistant Professor(Law). He is teaching at MNLU Mumbai since October 2016. Prior to joining MNLU Mumbai, has a teaching experience of two and half years at the School of Law, Christ University (SLCU) Bangalore and is pursuing PhD from National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bangalore in the area of Digital Privacy and Law. 
Courses Taught: Legal Methods, Family Law-I, Human Rights Law, Jurisprudence, Intellectual Property Law, Media Law, Data Protection Law.

Dr. Anand Raut , an Assistant Professor of Law, has more than four years of teaching experience and has taught Law of Contracts, Law of Crimes, Environment Law, IPR and Human Rights etc. He has participated and presented papers/articles in a number of seminars and conferences.
Courses Taught: Contract-I and Contract-II

Anand Shrivas is an Assistant Professor(Law). He holds Bachelor of Laws from RTM Nagpur University and Master of Laws from Hidayatuallah National Law University, Raipur.
 He has worked with different prestigious organizations on diverse practice areas including policy practice at Planning Commission of India, Corporate Practice at Acuity Law, Desai Desai & Carrimjee Mulla,Ramnath Developers and litigation, before venturing into the field of research and academia starting with Gujarat National Law University, Gandhinagar and then continuing with National Law University, Assam.
He has undergone training as intern/trainee at different leading law firms such as Vaish Associates Mumbai, Fox Mandal Bangalore, Fox Mandal Noida, Singhania and Co Hyderabad. 
He possesses basic understanding of various complex corporate transactions. He is an avid enthusiast in capital markets law and banking & finance law. He has taught subjects like Company Law, Corporate Finance Law, Corporate Governance, Insolvency Law, Securities Law, Banking Law, International Investment Law, M&A and competition law at different national law universities in the country.
Courses Taught: Securities Law, Corporate Governance, and Insolvency Law.

Ashok Chikte is an Assistant Professor(English). He has published many articles in reputed national and international Journals. He has also participated in several national and international conferences and seminars. Ashok strives to promote an interest in literature and literary thinking among his students. He is also interested in Creative Writings, Fine Arts and Music. He is also the coordinator of Spanish Course.
Courses Taught: Law and Literature, Legal and Constitutional History of India, Political Science-I, Legal English and Semiotics, Bridge Course (English).

Prof. Dr. Ashok Kumar Srivastava (Adjunct Professor) - Dr. Srivastava has over 30 years of teaching experience. Before joining Maharashtra National Law University Mumbai, Dr. Srivastava has worked as visiting faculty at KIIT University and he retired as the Principal of Madhusudan Law College, Cuttack. He has guided many research scholars for their legal doctorates and has two books to hiscredit for law students and practitioners, and over 40 articles published in various journals all over the country. He has also been associated with various State Public Service Commissions and various State Legal Service bodies.

Prof. Dr. Bhavani Prasad Panda is the founding Vice-Chancellor of the Maharashtra National Law University, Mumbai. Having completed his LL.M. from Andhra University, he went on to secure a doctorate (Ph.D) and a post-doctorate (LL.D) degree from Behrampur University, Odisha. In a career spanning over four decades, Prof. Panda has worked in various academic and administrative capacities at Utkal University, Behrampur University and the W.B. National University of Juridical Sciences, Kolkata. In 2016, he was conferred the N.R. Madhava Menon Best Law Teacher Award in recognition of his contribution to the field of legal education in India. Prof. Panda’s areas of expertise include criminal law, disaster management studies and ADR studies.

Chirag Balyan is an Assistant Professor of Law and Public Information Officer of the university. Prior to this, he worked as Law Clerk cum Research Assistant at the Supreme Court of India. His research interests include Over-criminalization in India, Problems of Justice System and Humanization of Criminal Law. He is Deputy Director of Centre for Research in Criminal Justice (CRCJ) and Faculty-In-Charge of Alternative Dispute Resolution Society.
Courses Taught: Law of Crimes, Code of Criminal Procedure, Law of Evidence and ADR.

Dr. Kiran Rai (Associate Professor) - Dr Rai is Head of Post Graduate department at MNLU Mumbai. A university gold medalist in LL.B. & LL.M., she specializes in the area of Business Laws. She has a rich experience of teaching graduate & post-graduate students, as well as guiding them in their research projects. She also has wide experience in handling diverse administrative responsibilities. Before joining MNLU Mumbai, she has worked as Dean at School of Law, Galgotias University, Greater Noida and has also worked with Amity Law School, Amity University, Noida; Institute Of Law, Nirma University, Ahmedabad; & ICFAI Business School (IBS), Ahmedabad. She has many awards &recognition to her credit. Besides having authored numerous research papers & a few books, she has done extensive research in the areas of Corporate Governance, Insolvency & Bankruptcy Code, & Law for Surrogacy. She has mobilized funds & collaborated with prestigious Government organizations - NCW & NHRC - for organizing workshops & seminars.
Courses Taught: Company Law, Law of Contract, Corporate Governance, Cyber Law, Property Law, RTI, Comparative Public Law & Legal Research.

Milind B. Gawai , an Assistant Professor(Law). He has ten years of experience as an Assistant Professor (Law) He also worked as Research Fellow (Faculty) at National Judicial Academy, Bhopal for more than a year. He is committed to disseminate knowledge of law especially Constitutional Law amongst his students and promote them towards professional career with the sense of ethics and social responsibility.
Courses Taught: Constitutional Law- I, Constitutional Law-II, Administrative Law and Code of Civil Procedure.

Nilamber Chhetri is an Assistant Professor of Sociology. He has submitted his PhD thesis on the growth and proliferation of ethnic associations at the Center for the Study of Social Systems, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. His research interests include social history of ethnic minorities, politics of recognition, social movement, and issues of nationalism. He is interested in exploring the inter-phase between law and society. Nilamber regularly contributes research papers and book reviews to reputed national and international journals.
Courses Taught: Sociological Theories

Raghav Pandey, an Assistant Professor(Law). He is an Assistant Professor in the University. He is also a Visiting Fellow at a prominent think tank of the country, India Foundation, New Delhi. His ongoing doctoral research at the the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, Mumbai, focuses on an interface of economics and law, where he focuses on the study of evolving Insolvency regime in India. He is widely published in national news dailies and academic journals.
Courses Taught: Labour Law - I , Labour Law -II , Public International Law and Law and Justice in a Globalizing World.

Dr. Rahul Suresh Sapkal is an Assistant Professor (Economics). He is Assistant Professor (Economics) at Maharashtra National Law University Mumbai. He holds Ph.D Degree in Law and Economics from European Doctorate Program in Law and Economics (Erasmus University Rotterdam, The Netherlands; University of Bologna, Italy; and University of Hamburg, Germany). He works in the areas of labor economics, law and economic, corporate governance, industrial relations, development economics, microeconometrics, and institutional economics. Prior to joining MNLU Mumbai, Dr. Sapkal has worked as a researcher with CORD-UNICEF; International Labor Organization, New Delhi and Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai. Dr. Sapkal has widely published and is a referee to various international economic journals of repute such as European Journal of Law and Economics, Economic and Political Weekly, Research in Sociology of Work, International Review of Income and Wealth, and Asian Journal of Law and Economics. Dr. Sapkal nominated as the governing board member of Workers Solidarity Network of Action Aid (India) and International Labour Organization (New Delhi). Recently, he was awarded the prestigious Reserve Bank of India, Faculty Research Fellowship – 2017 and is a recipient of Azim Premji Research Grant for the academic year 2018-19 for the project titled,” ‘Judicial Quality, Contract Enforcement and the Firm Performance: Empirical Evidence from India”. Dr. Sapkal is working as an advisor to Aajeevika Bureau's legal aid, education and advocacy work that works with migrant and informal workers in the state of Rajasthan, Gujarat and Maharashtra.

Rohit Bhaskar Jadhav is anAssistant Professor (Economics). He is working as Assistant Professor in Economic in Maharashtra National Law University since October 2016 as on regular basis. He teaches Economics to B.A. LL.B. (HONS) Students at MNLU MUMBAI. He is a member in various Committees and cells in university. Apart from this, he is also pursuing a Doctorate in International Relation, International Economics in Dr. B.A.M.U, Maharashtra. Besides, he is also interested in various areas of research and also published various research papers on International Relation, Indian Polity, Indian Economy, Women’s Studies/Gender Budgeting, Public Finance etc. He has qualified NET and NET-JRF in Economics and Political Science.
Prior, joining to MNLU Mumbai Mr. RohitJadhav had worked as Assistant Professor in M.P. Law College and Dr. Ambedkar College, Aurangabad, MH. He has also worked as a guest faculty and core faculty in PRE-NET/SET and PRE IAS/IPS center of Dr.B.A.M.U, Aurangabad and various others Competitive Institutions. He has mainly engaged into to develop various plans viz. special Study plan, Test plan, Analyze plan, and Revise Plan etc. for Civil Services, Indian Economic Services, State Services and NET/SELT Exams.
Courses Taught: Micro Economics,Macro Economics, Indian Economy and Economic Policies, Money, Banking, Fiscal Policy and Public Finance.

Sadashiv Deshmukh (Director CCLE) - Mr. Deshmukh started his career practising as an Advocate at the Kolhapur Court, Maharashtra Co-operative Tribunal, Divisional Commissioner at Pune. He then went on to join as a Civil Judge and Judicial Magistrate First Class. He has also worked as Judge in the City Civil and Sessions Court, Greater Bombay. He worked as Registrar Personnel at Bombay High Court till March 2017. Thereafter, he has worked as a Member of Maharashtra State Sales Tax Tribunal and also as Chairperson, Consumer Grievance Redressal (Electricity) at Kalyan. He is a member of Maharashtra State Legal Services Authority’s High Court Panel of Arbitrators

Sajid Sheikh is an Assistant Professor (Law). He obtained his LL.M. (Hons.) specializing in Intellectual Property Rights from National Law University, Jodhpur and is pursuing his Ph.D. from NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad. His contributions to various law journals focus on issues such as Intellectual Property Rights, Women and Law, Social Issues etc. He holds the additional charge of Assistant Registrar (Academic).
Courses Taught: Intellectual Property Law, Legal Methods, Communication and Advocacy Skills, Legal Drafting.

Upamanyu Sengupta is an Assistant Professor of English. His doctoral dissertation examines the hermeneutics of travel writing. He was awarded a DAAD Fellowship for a semester’s study at the Technische Universität, Dresden, Germany. Upamanyu’s research interests on studies of space and place, Anglo-Indian Studies and affective mapping are reflected in his publications.

Varada Sambhus is an Assistant Professor (Political Science). She is an Assistant Professor (Political Science) at the Maharashtra National Law University, Mumbai. She has more than 4 years of teaching experience in prestigious institutions of Pune and Mumbai. She has taught papers on Indian Politics, Political Theory and International Politics. She is a doctoral candidate at the Centre for Political Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University. She has presented papers at various international and national conferences and has published a chapter in a book on ‘Redefining Identities, Cultures and Literatures’.
Courses Taught: Political Theory, Political Ideologies, International Politics.

Sarama Pani is an Director(CICTL). She is an academician and technology executive with nearly three decades of experience. She has worked in leadership roles in various engineering and high-tech firms such as Tech Mahindra, Crompton Greaves, Mastek, Hexaware Ltd. and Patni Computers. She also has been associated in technical roles with educational institutions such as BITS Pilani, NITIE and University of Hong Kong. Sarama has led teams that focused on building scalable software solutions and defining measurable processes and metrics to address business problems for firms (including Fortune 500 multinationals such as Alcatel and British Telecom) in domains including telecom, software, energy, manufacturing and education. Her innovative work has been presented at SEPG international conferences, SPIN (Mumbai, Pune), Six Sigma workshops, PMI conference, CSI and NASSCOM.
Sarama has an M.Phil from IIT Bombay. Her academic training has been in economics, applied statistics and computational methods.
Courses Taught: Economics.

Tanu Mehta is an Director (CMR).She received her license to practice law in 1997 and has been an advocate practicing in Constitutional, Administrative, Service, Environment and Labour laws in the High Court of Bombay. She has also been a legal advisor to CBFC, Sahara Amby Valley and J.M Baxi group of companies.
She received the distinguished IVLP fellowship from the Government of USA in 1999.
She has completed an International Masters Degree in ‘Conflict Resolution and Mediation’ from the Tel Aviv University , Israel in 2011. Thereafter, she was empanelled by the High Court of Bombay and the City Civil Court of Bombay in their Mediation Panel. She has also been empanelled as a Mediator by the Indian Merchants Chamber, CADR Mumbai and IICA (Ministry of Corporate Affairs ) . She has been a co-founder of Association of Mediation Practitioners ( AMP) . She has also been a mentor and advisor to PreSolv360, India’s first online platform for dispute management.
She now primarily practices Mediation

Prof. (Dr.) Rajeev Kumar Sinha is an Director, Centre for Research in Criminal Justice (CRCJ). After completing LL.M. from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi Dr. Sinha has joined J.N.Vyas University, Jodhpur (Raj.) as Assistant Professor in the year 1980 and retired as Professor, Dean & Head in the year 2015. After retirement, he worked as Director of College of Law, JIMS, Greater Noida and also as Director of College of Law, IIMT, Greater Noida. He has guided many research scholars for Ph. D. Degree and written more than 30 research articles for National and International Conferences . He has also written a reference book, titled “ Crimes affecting State Security”. He is associated with various Universities, State Public Service Commissions and State Legal Service Bodies in different capacity. His area of specialization is Criminal –Law and Constitutional Law.
