Abhijit Rohi is an Assistant Professor of Law. He has two and half years of teaching experience at the School of Law, Christ University (SLCU) Bangalore. He is currently pursuing his PhD from National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bangalore in the area of Privacy Law. He has participated and presented papers in various conferences and also has a few publications to his credit.

Dr. Anand Raut , an Assistant Professor of Law, has more than four years of teaching experience and has taught Law of Contracts, Law of Crimes, Environment Law, IPR and Human Rights etc. He has participated and presented papers/articles in a number of seminars and conferences.

Anand Shrivas is an Assistant Professor of Law. He has worked on diverse areas including policy law, corporate law and litigation, before venturing into research and academia. His areas of interest are laws relating to Finance, Securities, M&A, Social Entrepreneurs, Corporate Social Responsibility, Real Estate, and International Investment. Anand is a regular contributor in various law journals and legal websites.

Ashok Chikte is an Assistant Professor of English and has published many articles besides participating in several conferences and seminars. Ashok strives to cultivate an interest in literature and literary thinking among his students.

Prof. Dr. Ashok Kumar Srivastava (Adjunct Professor) - Dr. Srivastava has over 30 years of teaching experience. Before joining Maharashtra National Law University Mumbai, Dr. Srivastava has worked as visiting faculty at KIIT University and he retired as the Principal of Madhusudan Law College, Cuttack. He has guided many research scholars for their legal doctorates and has two books to hiscredit for law students and practitioners, and over 40 articles published in various journals all over the country. He has also been associated with various State Public Service Commissions and various State Legal Service bodies.

B. G. Akhila (Faculty-Law) Ms. B. G. Akhila is a doctoral candidate at Centre for International Legal Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. She has submitted her doctoral thesis titled “National Implementation of International Law: A Study of Indian Practice”. Her research interest focuses on the engagements of Indian Judiciary with international law. She has been awarded gold medals for securing the first rank in LL.M. and second rank in LL.B from the University of Mysore. She has presented papers at ISA, World Congress of International Law (ISIL), AISC with publications. She teaches International Law and Environmental Law for Undergraduates and Law and Justice in Globalizing World for Post Graduates.

Prof. Dr. Bhavani Prasad Panda is the founding Vice-Chancellor of the Maharashtra National Law University, Mumbai. Having completed his LL.M. from Andhra University, he went on to secure a doctorate (Ph.D) and a post-doctorate (LL.D) degree from Behrampur University, Odisha. In a career spanning over four decades, Prof. Panda has worked in various academic and administrative capacities at Utkal University, Behrampur University and the W.B. National University of Juridical Sciences, Kolkata. In 2016, he was conferred the N.R. Madhava Menon Best Law Teacher Award in recognition of his contribution to the field of legal education in India. Prof. Panda’s areas of expertise include criminal law, disaster management studies and ADR studies.

Prof. Dr. Bhagabata Patro (Adjunct Professor) - Dr. Patro started his career as a Lecturer in Economics atBhadrak Government College. After which he joined as an Asst. Manager (Economic Investigation and Marketing) of DIC under the Industries Department of Government of Odisha. He then joined Berhampur University as a Lecturer in Economics (Econometrics). In 1983, he got selected in the CS examination as a Group B Officer. For a period of 2 Years, he was on lien to UCO bank to work as the Junior Economist at Guwahati Divisional Office. Dr.Patro was a Professor of Economics in the Berhampur University since 2003 to 2017. He has successfully guided many candidates for M. Phil and Ph.D. He has 65 publications in the form of books, book articles and journal articles of national and international repute. Dr.Patro is a member of many national level associations and is a member of the Consultative Committee on State Budget of the finance Department, Government of Odisha. He has acted as the Consultant to many state level non-governmental research organizations in the state of Odisha.

Chirag Balyan is an Assistant Professor of Law and also the Public Information Officer for the university. Prior to taking up his position here, he worked as Law Clerk cum Research Assistant at the Supreme Court of India. For a brief period he was also a drafting attorney. His research interests include Criminal Strict Liability, Locus of Victims in Criminal Law and interface of Copyright Management Societies & Competition Law.

Prof. Dr. Jitendra Kumar (Adjunct Professor) - Prof. Dr. J. Kumar, currently Professor of Law at MNLU Mumbai has for past four decades, been associated with numerous academic as well as professional bodies including the International School of Nuclear Law (Montpelier, France), Nuclear Law Institute (Vienna, Austria), Jawaharlal Nehru University (New Delhi, India), Homi Bhabha National Institute (Mumbai, India), National University of Juridical Sciences (Kolkata, India), Air and Space Law Academy of Gujarat National Law University (Gandhinagar, India), University of Mumbai (Mumbai, India), International Nuclear Law Association (Brussels, Belgium) and Indian Society of International Law (New Delhi, India). He is also panel arbitrator for International Arbitration Institutions.
He is a recognized expert in Nuclear law and has over the years worked closely with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the Nuclear Energy Agency of the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD-NEA), and the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor Organisation (ITER). Dr. Kumar is nominated by the Director General, IAEA as Member of the International Nuclear Liability Expert Group (INLEX) and the Consultants Group for the IAEA’s ongoing project on Handbook of Nuclear Law. He has been Indian Delegate at the Nuclear Law Committee of the Nuclear Energy Agency at the OECD and represented India at several International Institutions and Inter-Governmental negotiations.
As Head of the Nuclear Law Division and Legal Adviser to the Government of India, Dr. Kumar shaped Indian National Nuclear Legal Framework. He has extensive experience in policy, governance, industry (insurance, banking and finance, education, healthcare and energy sectors) and institutional arbitration through his association with the Bar, Insurance and Financial Institutions, Indian Atomic Energy Establishment (including the Atomic Energy Commission and the Atomic Energy Regulatory Board, Grant in Aid Educational, Medical and Research Institutions) and international organisations.
A science and law graduate, Dr. Kumar holds post graduate degrees in Political Science, Sociology as well as Industrial Relations and Personnel Management. Dr. Kumar was awarded the degree of Master of Laws by the University of Delhi (Delhi, India) and conferred the degree of Master of Philosophy and Doctorate in International Legal Studies by the Jawaharlal Nehru University (New Delhi, India) for his thesis “Normative Regulation of Outer Space Activities – India’s Interests and Role”.

Dr. Kiran Rai (Associate Professor) - Dr Rai is Head of Post Graduate department at MNLU Mumbai. A university gold medalist in LL.B. & LL.M., she specializes in the area of Business Laws. She has a rich experience of teaching graduate & post-graduate students, as well as guiding them in their research projects. She also has wide experience in handling diverse administrative responsibilities. Before joining MNLU Mumbai, she has worked as Dean at School of Law, Galgotias University, Greater Noida and has also worked with Amity Law School, Amity University, Noida; Institute Of Law, Nirma University, Ahmedabad; & ICFAI Business School (IBS), Ahmedabad. She has many awards &recognition to her credit. Besides having authored numerous research papers & a few books, she has done extensive research in the areas of Corporate Governance, Insolvency & Bankruptcy Code, & Law for Surrogacy. She has mobilized funds & collaborated with prestigious Government organizations - NCW & NHRC - for organizing workshops & seminars.

Mangesh Kadam , an Assistant Professor in Political Science, brings in ten years of teaching experience in face to face as well as Distance Mode learning. His interest involves study of caste and religion in Political Process in India and Maharashtra. He is also pursuing his Ph.D. and area of his research is Local Political leadership in Mumbai Municipal Corporation (MCGM).

Milind B. Gawai , an Assistant Professor of Law, has eight years of experience as an Assistant Professor (Law) and more than one year experience as a Research Fellow at National Judicial Academy, Bhopal. He is committed to disseminating knowledge of law especially Constitutional Law amongst his students and promote them towards professional career as well as imbibe a sense of social service.
Courses Taught: Law of Crimes, Code of Civil Procedure.

Nilamber Chhetri is an Assistant Professor of Sociology. He has submitted his PhD thesis on the growth and proliferation of ethnic associations at the Center for the Study of Social Systems, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. His research interests include social history of ethnic minorities, politics of recognition, social movement, and issues of nationalism. He is interested in exploring the inter-phase between law and society. Nilamber regularly contributes research papers and book reviews to reputed national and international journals.

Raghav Pandey (Visiting Faculty) - Mr. Pandey teaches Constitutional Law at MNLU Mumbai. He is also a Research Fellow at the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT), Mumbai. His ongoing doctoral research focuses on a comparative perspective of Insolvency Law. He is a permanent contributor to the newspaper 'The Pioneer' and online news platform 'FirstPost'. His research interests lie in interdisciplinary research on Law, Economics, History, Politics and Religion.

Dr. Rahul Suresh Sapkal is an Assistant Professor of Economics. He holds a PhD Degree in Law and Economics from European Doctorate Program in Law and Economics (Erasmus University Rotterdam, The Netherlands, University of Bologna, Italy and University of Hamburg, Germany). Prior to joining MNLU, Dr. Sapkal has worked as a researcher with CORD-UNICEF, the International Labour Organization, New Delhi, and the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai. Dr. Sapkal is widely published and a referee to various international economic journals of repute.

Rohit Bhaskar Jadhav is an Assistant Professor Economics at the university. Rohit is a PhD. candidate in international relations in Dr. B.A.M.U, Maharashtra. He has published various research papers on international relations, Indian polity, Indian economy, women’s studies, finance and terrorism.

Sadashiv Deshmukh (Director CCLE) - Mr. Deshmukh started his career practising as an Advocate at the Kolhapur Court, Maharashtra Co-operative Tribunal, Divisional Commissioner at Pune. He then went on to join as a Civil Judge and Judicial Magistrate First Class. He has also worked as Judge in the City Civil and Sessions Court, Greater Bombay. He worked as Registrar Personnel at Bombay High Court till March 2017. Thereafter, he has worked as a Member of Maharashtra State Sales Tax Tribunal and also as Chairperson, Consumer Grievance Redressal (Electricity) at Kalyan. He is a member of Maharashtra State Legal Services Authority’s High Court Panel of Arbitrators

Sajid Sheikh is a Teacher Associate of Law and Coordinator of Post Graduate course at Maharashtra National Law University, Mumbai. He obtained his LL.M. (Hons.) specializing in Intellectual Property Rights from National Law University, Jodhpur and is pursuing his Ph.D. from NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad. His contributions to various law journals focus on issues such as Intellectual Property Rights, Intellectual Property Law, Law of Torts, Communication & Advocacy Skills, Legal Drafting and Competition Law.

Upamanyu Sengupta is an Assistant Professor of English. His doctoral dissertation examines the hermeneutics of travel writing. He was awarded a DAAD Fellowship for a semester’s study at the Technische Universität, Dresden, Germany. Upamanyu’s research interests on studies of space and place, Anglo-Indian Studies and affective mapping are reflected in his publications.

Varada Sambhus is an Assistant Professor (Political Science) at the Maharashtra National Law University, Mumbai. She is a doctoral candidate at the Centre for Political Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University.
