PG Diploma in Arbitration and Mediation

Introduction

The Post Graduate Diploma in Arbitration and Mediation (PG-DAM) is a one-year, practice-oriented programme offered by the Centre for Arbitration and Research, Maharashtra National Law University Mumbai. The programme is designed to equip students and professionals with contemporary knowledge and practical skills in arbitration, mediation, negotiation, and alternative dispute resolution (ADR), aligned with evolving domestic and international legal frameworks.

Rationale

With increasing litigation costs, delays, and adversarial outcomes, arbitration and mediation have emerged as preferred dispute resolution mechanisms globally. India’s policy shift towards ADR, institutional arbitration, and mediation-centric reforms has created a strong demand for trained professionals who possess doctrinal clarity, procedural competence, drafting skills, and emotional intelligence. This programme responds to that need by integrating theory with intensive practical exposure.
