Prof. (Dr.) Dilip Ukey is the Vice-Chancellor of Maharashtra National Law University Mumbai. Before joining MNLU Mumbai, he served as the pro Vice-Chancellor and briefly as the acting Vice-Chancellor of SRTM University, Nanded, Maharashtra, and Professor & Head of the Department at Department of Law, Savitribai Phule Pune University. In the past, he was appointed as a Visiting Research Fellow by New South Wales University, Sydney, Australia and awarded UGC Fellowship to visit France. As an invited speaker he has spoken at numerous international conferences including the International Conference held on human rights at Kathmandu, Nepal; International Conference on Human Rights at New South Wales University Sydney, Australia and International Conference jointly organized by Vienna University Austria and City University Hong Kong. He has been a member of various committees of Universities, UGC, Public Service Commissions including Judges Selection Panel. In 2019, he was conferred the Best Academician (Law) by the Indian National Bar Association, New Delhi. He is an erudite expert in Jurisprudence, Constitutional Law and Administrative law and his work in these fields is recognized in national and international fora..


Prof. (Dr.) Anil G. Variath is the Registrar (I/c), Director (Center for Research in Criminal Justice), & Controller of Examinations Educational Qualification : M.A; LL.M; Ph.D Started the academic career in 2000 with the Siddharth College of Law, Mumbai. In 2006, took over as the Faculty in charge and Co-ordinator of SNDT Women’s University’s Law School. In 2009 -10 was the Principal of Asmita College of Law, Mumbai. 2011 to 2014 was the Principal of Sandesh College of Law, Vikhroli, and in 2015 joined the Maharashtra National Law University, Mumbai as Professor & Head, Department of PG Studies. Joined the Amity University Mumbai as Professor & Dy. Director of its Law School and in August 2019 joined Maharashtra National Law University Mumbai as Professor & Director, Center For Research in Criminal Justice and Controller of Examinations. Also holding the position of Chair Professor of Environmental Law, Officer on Special Duty. Areas of interest are Constitutional Law, Corporate Laws and Environment Law. Three Ph.D have been awarded under his supervision.


Dr. W. M. Dhumane is M. Sc. (Chemistry) and Ph. D. in Chemistry from Nagpur University and LL.B. from Mumbai University. Before joining the MNLU Mumbai as IPR Chair Professor, Dr. Dhumane was associated with Patent Office, Intellectual Property Office (IPO), Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India for 20 years. He joined Patent Office in August 2000 as Deputy Controller of Patents & Designs through UPSC and functioned as Controller of Patents and Designs (as statutory authority for grant/refusal of patents under Patents Act) and, subsequently ascended to become Senior Joint Controller of Patents and Designs, the highest post in Indian Patent Office and retired on 31-05-2012.He functioned as Head of Patent Offices at Chennai and Mumbai and also as Head of the Office of Controller General of Patents, Designs and Trademarks, Mumbai. Prior to joining the Patent Office, Dr. Dhumane had worked as Mineralogist in Mineral Exploration Corporation Ltd. Nagpur (A Government of India Enterprise) up to July 2000. He functioned as In-charge of Analytical and R & D wing and completed several R & D projects for the organization. He was also a Member of Sub-committee of Indian Standards Institution (ISI) on minerals, Member of Board of studies in Chemistry, Nagpur University and Member of the Committee of Laxminarayan Institute of Technology (LIT) Nagpur. After his retirement from Intellectual Property Office (IPO),recognizing his valuable contribution for bringing in development and reforms in Intellectual Property Office (IPO) ,he was appointed as IPR Consultant by DPIIT in IPO from 1st June 2012 and he continued as consultant in IPO Mumbai till his joining MNLU Mumbai on 10th June 2020.


Dr. Karuna Akshay Malviya, BLS, LL.M, NET(SRF), PHD(LAW), DCL, CCP, is the Director of the Centre for Advanced Training in Taxation Laws and Coordinator for the Centre for Women Law and Gender Justice. She has vast teaching experience and authored numerous research papers on socio-legal issues. Her area of interests are Criminal law, law and medicine, women and child law, constitutional law, and clinical legal education. Before joining MNLU Mumbai, she had been I/C Principal to MGM Law College, Nerul, Navi Mumbai and a resource person in renowned universities and colleges. Besides, she has been a Coordinator for the University of Mumbai’s Collaborative programs with international Courts and Universities. In the Navi Mumbai region, she had actively undertaken projects in association with Taloja Jail for undertrial prisoners, organized pro bono legal aid camps, trained students for the legal aid camps and have done exemplary work for the cause of society, especially in the area of gender sensitization and woman empowerment. Her work has been appreciated by the Mayor of Navi Mumbai and has received many recognitions.


Advocate (Dr.) Swapnil Bangali is the Director of the Centre for Information Communication Technology and Law completed his LL.B. from Symbiosis Law School, Pune and enrolled himself as an Advocate in Bar Council of Maharashtra & Goa in 2004. He completed his LL.M. in Constitutional Law and Legal Order in 2006 from Symbiosis Law School, Pune. Simultaneously, he completed his DLL&LW, DTL and DIPL. In 2005, he cleared the examination of Judicial Magistrate. Due to his keen interest in academics and research, he joined the Symbiosis Law School, Pune as an Assistant Professor in 2006. In 2006, he passed UGC-NET. He was awarded with the Doctorate by Symbiosis International University in the field of Information Technology Law in 2016. He has also completed the Winter School Certificate Program on Cyber Security and Cyber Law at Gujarat National Law University, Gandhinagar and was awarded as the Best Participant for the same in 2012. He was invited in Berlin School of Economics and Law, Berlin (Germany) in 2015 to deliver sessions on Police Law and Constitutional Law. He holds the experience of 15 years of teaching various subjects.

Tanu Mehta is the Director of Centre for Mediation and Reserch (CMR).She received her license to practice law in 1997 and has been an advocate practicing in Constitutional, Administrative, Service, Environment and Labour laws in the High Court of Bombay. She has also been a legal advisor to CBFC, Sahara Amby Valley and J.M Baxi group of companies.
She received the distinguished IVLP fellowship from the Government of USA in 1999.
She has completed an International Masters Degree in ‘Conflict Resolution and Mediation’ from the Tel Aviv University , Israel in 2011. Thereafter, she was empanelled by the High Court of Bombay and the City Civil Court of Bombay in their Mediation Panel. She has also been empanelled as a Mediator by the Indian Merchants Chamber, CADR Mumbai and IICA (Ministry of Corporate Affairs ) . She has been a co-founder of Association of Mediation Practitioners ( AMP) . She has also been a mentor and advisor to PreSolv360, India’s first online platform for dispute management.
She now primarily practices Mediation

Advocate (Dr.) Rajendra Anbhule is the Director, Center for Advanced Legal Studies Training and Research ADDITIONAL CHARGE: Member, Academic Council, MNLU, Mumbai. Chief Coordinator CLEP, Bar Council of Maharashtra and Goa. EDUCATION: M.A. (Pol.Sc) L.L.M (Goldmedallist) Ph.D (In Law), PAST WORK EXPERIENCE: Supreme Court Advocate on Record in Supreme Court of India, practicing Advocate in Supreme Court of India and High Court of Bombay.

Dr. Kiran Rai is an Associate Professor of Law and is the Head of Under Graduate department at MNLU Mumbai. A university gold medalist in LL.B. & LL.M., she specializes in the area of Business Laws. She has a rich experience of teaching graduate & post-graduate students, as well as guiding them in their research projects. She also has wide experience in handling diverse administrative responsibilities. Before joining MNLU Mumbai, she has worked as Dean at School of Law, Galgotias University, Greater Noida and has also worked with Amity Law School, Amity University, Noida; Institute Of Law, Nirma University, Ahmedabad; & ICFAI Business School (IBS), Ahmedabad. She has many awards &recognition to her credit. Besides having authored numerous research papers & a few books, she has done extensive research in the areas of Corporate Governance, Insolvency & Bankruptcy Code, & Law for Surrogacy. She has mobilized funds & collaborated with prestigious Government organizations - NCW & NHRC - for organizing workshops & seminars.

Dr. Anand Raut , an Assistant Professor (Law) is the Head of Post Graduate Department. He is also Member of Academic Council and Deputy Director of Center for Information Communication and Technology Law. He is holder of Doctorate Degree and advanced Diploma Progrmme in Cyber laws. He has cleared UGC NET and is a merit holder in graduation and post graduation. He has undertaken various research projects and has written research papers, reading material. He has been invited as a speaker at seminars, workshops, panel consultations etc. He is the founding faculty of Maharashtra National Law University Mumbai.

Sajid Sheikh is an Assistant Professor (Law). He obtained his LL.M. (Hons.) specializing in Intellectual Property Rights from National Law University, Jodhpur and is pursuing his Ph.D. from NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad. His contributions to various law journals focus on issues such as Intellectual Property Rights, Women and Law, Social Issues etc. He holds the additional charge of Assistant Registrar (Academic) and is the Coordinator of Centre for Research in Intellectual Property. He is also a member of the Academic Council of the University.
Courses Taught: Intellectual Property Law, Legal Methods, Communication and Advocacy Skills, Legal Drafting.

Milind B. Gawai , an Assistant Professor of Law. He has ten years of experience as an Assistant Professor (Law) He also worked as Research Fellow (Faculty) at National Judicial Academy, Bhopal for more than a year. He is committed to disseminate knowledge of law especially Constitutional Law amongst his students and promote them towards professional career with the sense of ethics and social responsibility.
Courses Taught: Constitutional Law- I, Constitutional Law-II, Administrative Law and Code of Civil Procedure.

Anand Shrivas is an Assistant Professor of Law. He holds Bachelor of Laws from RTM Nagpur University and Master of Laws from Hidayatuallah National Law University, Raipur.
He has worked with different prestigious organizations on diverse practice areas including policy practice at Planning Commission of India, Corporate Practice at Acuity Law, Desai Desai & Carrimjee Mulla,Ramnath Developers and litigation, before venturing into the field of research and academia starting with Gujarat National Law University, Gandhinagar and then continuing with National Law University, Assam.
He has undergone training as intern/trainee at different leading law firms such as Vaish Associates Mumbai, Fox Mandal Bangalore, Fox Mandal Noida, Singhania and Co Hyderabad.
He possesses basic understanding of various complex corporate transactions. He is an avid enthusiast in capital markets law and banking & finance law. He has taught subjects like Company Law, Corporate Finance Law, Corporate Governance, Insolvency Law, Securities Law, Banking Law, International Investment Law, M&A and competition law at different national law universities in the country.
Courses Taught: Securities Law, Corporate Governance, and Insolvency Law.

Raghav Pandey, an Assistant Professor of Law. He is an Assistant Professor in the University. He is also a Visiting Fellow at a prominent think tank of the country, India Foundation, New Delhi. His ongoing doctoral research at the the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, Mumbai, focuses on an interface of economics and law, where he focuses on the study of evolving Insolvency regime in India. He is widely published in national news dailies and academic journals.
Courses Taught: Labour Law - I , Labour Law -II , Public International Law and Law and Justice in a Globalizing World.

Chirag Balyan is an Assistant Professor of Law and Public Information Officer of the university. Prior to this, he worked as Law Clerk cum Research Assistant at the Supreme Court of India. His research interests include Over-criminalization in India, Problems of Justice System and Humanization of Criminal Law. He is Coordinator of Centre for Arbitration and Research (CAR), Deputy Director of Centre for Research in Criminal Justice (CRCJ) and Faculty-In-Charge of Atheletic Association.
Courses Taught: Law of Crimes, Code of Criminal Procedure, Law of Evidence and ADR.

Varada Sambhus is an Assistant Professor (Political Science). She is an Assistant Professor (Political Science) at the Maharashtra National Law University, Mumbai. She has more than 4 years of teaching experience in prestigious institutions of Pune and Mumbai. She has taught papers on Indian Politics, Political Theory and International Politics. She is a doctoral candidate at the Centre for Political Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University. She has presented papers at various international and national conferences and has published a chapter in a book on ‘Redefining Identities, Cultures and Literatures’.
Courses Taught: Political Theory, Political Ideologies, International Politics.

Abhijit Rohi is an Assistant Professor of Law. He is teaching at MNLU Mumbai since October 2016. Prior to joining MNLU Mumbai, has a teaching experience of two and half years at the School of Law, Christ University (SLCU) Bangalore and is pursuing PhD from National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bangalore in the area of Digital Privacy and Law.
Courses Taught: Legal Methods, Family Law-I, Human Rights Law, Jurisprudence, Intellectual Property Law, Media Law, Data Protection Law.

Upamanyu Sengupta is an Assistant Professor of English. His doctoral dissertation examines the hermeneutics of travel writing. He was awarded a DAAD Fellowship for a semester’s study at the Technische Universität, Dresden, Germany. Upamanyu’s research interests on studies of space and place, Anglo-Indian Studies and affective mapping are reflected in his publications.

Rohit Bhaskar Jadhav is an Assistant Professor (Economics). He is working as Assistant Professor in Economic in Maharashtra National Law University since October 2016 as on regular basis. He teaches Economics to B.A. LL.B. (HONS) Students at MNLU MUMBAI. He is a member in various Committees and cells in university. Apart from this, he is also pursuing a Doctorate in International Relation, International Economics in Dr. B.A.M.U, Maharashtra. Besides, he is also interested in various areas of research and also published various research papers on International Relation, Indian Polity, Indian Economy, Women’s Studies/Gender Budgeting, Public Finance etc. He has qualified NET and NET-JRF in Economics and Political Science.
Prior, joining to MNLU Mumbai Mr. RohitJadhav had worked as Assistant Professor in M.P. Law College and Dr. Ambedkar College, Aurangabad, MH. He has also worked as a guest faculty and core faculty in PRE-NET/SET and PRE IAS/IPS center of Dr.B.A.M.U, Aurangabad and various others Competitive Institutions. He has mainly engaged into to develop various plans viz. special Study plan, Test plan, Analyze plan, and Revise Plan etc. for Civil Services, Indian Economic Services, State Services and NET/SELT Exams.
Courses Taught: Micro Economics,Macro Economics, Indian Economy and Economic Policies, Money, Banking, Fiscal Policy and Public Finance.

Ashok Chikte is an Assistant Professor (English). He has published many articles in reputed national and international Journals. He has also participated in several national and international conferences and seminars. Ashok strives to promote an interest in literature and literary thinking among his students. He is also interested in Creative Writings, Fine Arts and Music. He is also the coordinator of Spanish Course.
Courses Taught: Law and Literature, Legal and Constitutional History of India, Political Science-I, Legal English and Semiotics, Bridge Course (English).

Yash Vardhan is an Assistant Professor, holds an LLM degree in International Law from the Faculty of Legal Studies, South Asian University and an LL B. (Hons.) degree from Banaras Hindu University. His area of academic interest includes, but not necessarily limited to, Public International Law, Law of the Sea, International Maritime Law and International Investment Law. Prior to joining the University, he was engaged as an Assistant Professor at Allahabad University and had also taught at the Central University of South Bihar, Amity University and GD Goenka University.

Gauri Rane is an alumnus of Government Law College Mumbai with a specialisation (LL.M) in Criminal Law and Criminal Administration. She has extensive internship experience in Criminal Litigation before joining the University. She has a Proficiency in French Language (B1 Level) from Alliance Française de Bombay. She has joined University as a Teaching and Research Associate and holds additional responsibilities as a Coordinator of the Centre for Research in Criminal Justice and Justice M. L. Pendse Chair in Environmental Laws. She is also appointed as a Course Coordinator of Post Graduate Diploma Programs 2021 (P. G. Diploma in Crime Investigation, Medical Jurisprudence and Forensic Science and P. G. Diploma in Litigation Lawyering and Law Firm Management). She is a Co-Investigator for the Research Project on Criminal Law Reforms proposed by the Government of India. To elevate her academic career, she is currently pursuing M.A in Security & Defence Laws from NALSAR and looking forward to pursuing a PhD in the coming years.

Shriya Mokta is an Assistant Professor (Political Science). She is presently pursuing Ph.D. from department of political science, Himachal Pradesh University. She is B.Tech in computer science engineering and is M.A. and M.Phil. in political science from Himachal Pradesh University. She has twice cleared UGC NET and once cleared SET exam in political science from Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission. Her book on the theme " India's Quest for Permanent Seat in UNSC: Challenges and Prospects " has been released. Her 12 articles have been published in various national & international journals of repute.
